The stand-alone system consists of: a shielded remote unit (transmitter), a receiver, afibre optic cable, acharger for the transmitter and a power supply for the receiver.The optical link is designed for the transmission of signals (CW and pulses) from 300 Hz to 3.3 GHz. Thesignal is conditioned and converted into an analogue optical signal in the transmitter module and istransmitted to the optical receiver through a fibre optic cable. The receiver module converts back theoptical signal into an electrical signal. The transmitter module is powered with a rechargeable battery. Thereceiver can control the attenuator/amplifier settings and the built-in test generator for the calibrationprocess.The modular optical link can be used for instance to monitor electric, magnetic field sensors and currentprobes. Acquisition and stimulus signals can be transmitted.
